Compare the workflow
mySymptoms emphasizes recording food, symptoms, and lifestyle factors, then reviewing possible associations. Its Android guide explains diary entries and reports. That breadth may fit someone organizing several types of digestive symptoms, rather than reflux alone.
GERDBuddy adds meal-photo and restaurant-menu scans to reflux tracking. The scan can suggest possible triggers or lower-risk choices before a meal. Your own logs provide additional context over time. It also includes guided breathing and comfort steps during a flare, plus a report for appointment preparation.
These are different workflows, not evidence that one app produces better medical outcomes. We have not verified restaurant-menu scanning or guided flare routines in the public mySymptoms listing; that is not a claim about every feature in every version.
What to check during a trial
- Logging effort: can you record your usual meals and symptoms without abandoning the diary?
